Sports Club Sections
Tennis
The Tennis Club was established in 1906 when it consisted of two grass courts laid alongside the bowling green. The club now boasts a pavilion overlooking 4 floodlit TigerTurf courts. We currently have four tennis teams competing in the Southport Tennis League during the tennis season and have a bustling social scene.
The tennis section also has a dedicated club coach (Oli Hobson) who provides private coaching and squads to both members and non-members. If you are interested in joining the Tennis Club, please contact membership@formbyvillagetennis.com
Table Tennis
Formby Village Table Tennis was formed in the 1950’s by John Bagot who at the time was a Tennis member. Initially the club played in the Bowls Pavilion and from that early time it gradually grew in both members and competition success.Over the years the club has enjoyed considerable success in the League and have won the First division quite a few times.
The club has had a number of quality players over the years including an English international and one of current members is vice chairman of Table Tennis England.
The club also has a thriving social section which meets in the morning during the week so if you are a beginner this would be ideal for you. Competition players are very welcome to join of course.Snooker
Formby Village Snooker two full-size snooker tables maintained to a high standard and available for free use by members of the snooker section. The Neville Suite, named after one of long serving members, is open most days from 9 am to 10 pm.
Social snooker takes place most days allowing members, whatever their ability, to take part in a friendly environment. Help is available for beginners. The Neville Suite is in Beauford Hall, which is accessed through the car park of Holy Trinity Church.Padel Tennis
